Copper Reducing Tee for Potable Water
The NIBCO 611R is a sweat fitting tee designed for potable water systems. It connects three copper tubes using cup connections on all sides. The run accepts two 5/8 inch copper tube sizes while the branch reduces to 3/8 inch.
Sweat Connections Require Soldering
Each cup connection is sized for the tube outer diameter: 3/4 inch on the two run ends and 1/2 inch on the branch. Installers must clean, flux and solder the joints to create a permanent, leak-free seal. No mechanical fasteners or push-fit components are included.
Reducing Branch Limits Flow Capacity
The 3/8 inch branch provides a smaller flow path than the 5/8 inch run, making it suitable for fixture take-offs or secondary lines. It does not suit applications needing equal flow on all three outlets or larger branch connections.

Questions about this item
Does the wrot copper tee require any flux replacement or internal cleaning after years of potable water service?
Wrot copper fittings are permanent sweat connections; no internal components need replacement or periodic cleaning once the joint is properly soldered.
What pressure or temperature limit will be reached first if the tee runs continuously in a hot water loop?
The copper material itself handles typical domestic hot water pressures and temperatures; the practical limit is the solder joint rating, not the tee body.
Will the tee transmit noticeable heat or noise when hot water flows through it all day?
Copper conducts heat efficiently so the tee will become warm to the touch, but it adds no mechanical noise beyond normal water flow sound.
