3/8 in Bronze Elbow Coupling

This NIBCO 707-4-6-LF fitting connects 3/8 in copper tube to a 3/8 in male NPT thread. It forms a 90-degree elbow in potable water lines. The bronze body meets ASME B16.18, NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372 standards.

For copper-to-thread transitions

Plumbers joining 3/8 in copper tubing to a 3/8 in female threaded port will use this coupling. It is not for press-connect, push-fit or compression joints. It is also not for systems exceeding 623 psi or 200 Degrees F.

Cup 3/8 in MNPT 3/8 in connection

The defining specification is the dual connection type: a 3/8 in cup sweat end paired with a 3/8 in MNPT threaded end. This determines whether the fitting matches the pipe and port you are joining.

Questions about this item

Will the 623 psi rating hold under continuous high-pressure service?

The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 623 psi at up to 200 °F, per ASME B 16.18 testing.

Does the bronze body run hot or make noise when water flows all day?

Bronze conducts heat well and has no moving parts, so it stays at fluid temperature and operates silently.

What pipe and tools do I need to install this 3/8 inch elbow?

You need 3/8 inch copper tube for the sweat cup end, 3/8 inch male NPT threads on the other side, flux, lead-free solder and a torch.
