Copper Adapter for Air and Potable Water
This straight adapter joins 1-1/2 inch copper tube on one end to 1-1/4 inch copper tube on the other. It is made from wrot copper and meets ASME B16.29 and ASTM B75 standards. The fitting suits residential and light-commercial plumbing installations.
Verify Tube Sizes and Joint Method
Confirm that your existing lines match the nominal 1-1/2 inch and 1-1/4 inch copper tube sizes before ordering. The adapter uses a cup connection on the larger end and a solder-joint connection on the smaller end. Ensure your system design accommodates sweat soldering for both joints.
Pressure and Temperature Limits in Service
The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 5 psi and a maximum operating temperature of 400 degrees F. Under normal plumbing conditions these limits provide a wide safety margin. No moving parts or seals are present, so the joint remains silent and requires no power.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter come with solder or flux, or do I need to buy them separately?
The box contains only the copper adapter; solder, flux and any pipe-preparation tools must be purchased separately.
Should I choose the 1-1/2" cup side or the 1-1/4" SJ side for my supply line?
The 1-1/2" cup end sweats onto 1-1/2" nominal copper tube; the 1-1/4" SJ end accepts a 1-1/4" nominal tube that slides into the socket.
Will the 5 psi pressure rating handle typical household water pressure?
The fitting is rated to 5 psi maximum operating pressure, which is far below normal municipal supply pressure, so it is intended only for very low-pressure air or water circuits.
