Nikon 2181 AF-S DX 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED camera lens

Wide-angle DX zoom for Nikon SLRs

The Nikon 2181 covers a 10 to 24 mm focal range on DX-format SLR bodies, delivering an expansive field of view for architecture, interiors and landscape work. Its variable maximum aperture runs from f/3.5 at the wide end to f/4.5 at 24 mm, and the lens accepts 77 mm filters. Autofocus is driven by a built-in Silent Wave Motor for quick, quiet operation.

Consistent rendering across the zoom range

Extra-low Dispersion glass elements suppress chromatic aberration throughout the 10 to 24 mm span, so colour fringing stays controlled even at the corners. The aperture stops down to f/22, allowing extended depth of field when stopped down for scenic or architectural detail. Minimum focus distance is 0.79 ft, letting you place foreground elements close to the front element.

DX image circle limits full-frame coverage

Because the optical design projects a DX-format image circle, vignetting appears on FX sensors unless the camera crops automatically. The Nikon 1 mount designation means the lens communicates electronically with compatible SLR bodies for aperture control and EXIF data. At 1.88 units weight, it remains a compact wide-angle option for DX system users.
