Ultra-wide zoom for DX cameras

The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED covers an ultra-wide 10-24mm focal range on DX-format sensors. It delivers a 110-degree angle of view at the wide end, equivalent to 15-36mm in 35mm terms. The lens suits photographers who need expansive coverage for landscapes, architecture and interiors.

Silent Wave Motor and ED glass construction

Two ED glass elements and three aspherical elements reduce chromatic aberration and coma across the zoom range. Nikon Super Integrated Coating helps control flare and ghosting. The Silent Wave Motor provides fast, quiet autofocus suitable for stills and video work on compatible bodies.

Variable aperture and DX coverage limits

Maximum aperture shifts from f/3.5 at 10mm to f/4.5 at 24mm, restricting low-light depth-of-field control at longer settings. The optical design covers only the DX image circle, so vignetting occurs on FX-format cameras. Buyers needing constant aperture or full-frame coverage should consider other options.

Questions about this item

What focal-length range does the 2.4× zoom cover on a DX sensor?

Which Nikon DSLR mounts accept this DX-format lens?

It uses the standard Nikon F mount and is designed for DX-format DSLR bodies; on FX bodies it operates in crop mode.

How do you switch to manual focus on the Silent Wave Motor?
