Versatile FX and DX zoom

The Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED covers a 24 to 70 mm focal range with a constant f/2.8 aperture. It is built for photographers who need a single lens for wide-angle to medium telephoto work on both FX and DX format sensors. The 15 element optical design includes three ED glass elements, three aspherical lenses and a Nano Crystal Coat.

Build integration and handling

The lens mounts directly to Nikon DSLR bodies using the F mount and uses an internal Silent Wave Motor for fast, quiet autofocus. Internal focusing keeps the barrel length constant at 14.9 inches minimum focus distance, preserving working space. A 0.38 metre close focus capability and an M/A focus mode switch allow quick changes between auto and manual operation without changing grip.

Optical accessories and protection

The three ED elements and aspherical lenses control chromatic aberration and distortion across the zoom range. Nano Crystal Coat reduces ghosting and flare when shooting into bright light. Professional grade dust and moisture sealing protects the internal mechanism during extended outdoor use. The 11 group construction maintains edge to edge sharpness on both 23.9 by 36 mm FX and smaller DX sensors.
