Portrait prime for FX DSLRs

This bundle centres on the AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED lens built for FX-format F-mount DSLRs. Its f/1.4 maximum aperture delivers shallow depth of field and strong low-light performance for portrait and event work. The package adds a three-piece filter kit, a cap keeper, and a cleaning kit alongside the standard caps, hood and soft case.

Simple F-mount attachment

The lens mounts directly to any compatible F-mount body without adapters; the electromagnetic aperture ring requires a camera that supports E-type lenses for full auto exposure control. Older bodies without E-lens support may lose automatic aperture function, so verify compatibility before shooting. The included cap keeper snaps onto the strap to prevent lost front or rear caps during changes.

Suits portrait and event shooters on FX DSLRs

Photographers needing a fast 105mm prime for controlled depth of field on Nikon FX DSLRs will benefit from the bright aperture and ED glass. Shooters using mirrorless Z-mount cameras, crop-sensor bodies without AF motor support, or those requiring zoom versatility should consider other options.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the f/1.4 aperture is functioning correctly after mounting the lens?

Take test shots at f/1.4 in low light and verify sharp focus with shallow depth of field; the Silent Wave Motor should autofocus quickly and silently, and manual override works instantly.

Which items from the bundle and manufacturer list come in the box, and what must I purchase separately?

The box includes the 105mm f/1.4E ED lens, 3-piece filter kit, cap keeper, cleaning kit, 82mm front cap, LF-4 rear cap, HB-79 hood, and CL1218 soft case; no additional accessories are required for basic use.

Should I choose the 105mm f/1.4E ED prime or a zoom covering 24-120mm for portrait work?

The 105mm f/1.4E ED prime is built for portraits with its fast f/1.4 aperture and shallow depth of field, while the 24-120mm f/4 zoom offers framing flexibility but less background separation.
