Wide-Angle Prime for Low Light

The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED is a fast wide-angle prime lens built for Nikon F-mount cameras. Its f/1.4 maximum aperture excels in challenging low-light conditions and provides enhanced control over depth of field. The optical design uses two extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements to minimise aberrations. A Nano Crystal Coating suppresses flare for improved contrast.

Bundle Adds Storage and Protection

The package includes a Sandisk 64GB Ultra memory card and a card reader for immediate offloading. A 3-piece filter kit and 77mm snap-on lens cap protect the front element, while a lens cap keeper prevents loss. A 12-inch flexible tripod, Pro Sling backpack, memory card wallet and cleaning kit support mobile shooting. Corel photo software is supplied for post-processing.

F-Mount Limits Native Mirrorless Use

This lens uses the Nikon F mount, so it requires an adapter to function on Z-series mirrorless bodies. The Silent Wave Motor drives fast, quiet autofocus on compatible DSLRs, with full-time manual focus override available. The fixed 24mm focal length offers no zoom flexibility, requiring physical repositioning to change framing. Buyers needing variable focal lengths or native mirrorless integration should consider other options.

Questions about this item

How often should the 77mm front filter threads be checked or the Nano Crystal Coating cleaned for sustained optical quality?

Inspect the 77mm threads whenever filters are swapped and clean the Nano Crystal Coating only when visible smudges appear using the supplied cleaning kit.

Which component reaches its thermal limit first during extended video recording at f/1.4?

The Silent Wave Motor and barrel surfaces warm first during prolonged wide-aperture use; allow cooling breaks if the barrel becomes uncomfortably hot.

How much heat and fan noise does the lens produce during all-day shooting?

The lens has no internal fan and runs silently; only the Silent Wave Motor generates minimal warmth during continuous autofocus operation.
