Wide-Angle Prime with Filter Kit

This new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED lens ships as a bundle including a 3-piece filter kit, a lens cap keeper and a cleaning kit. The prime optic delivers a classic wide field of view paired with a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture. It suits photographers who need low-light capability and shallow depth of field in a single focal length.

Suited for Low-Light Creative Work

The fast aperture and wide angle serve landscape, nature and street photographers working in dim conditions or seeking strong subject separation. Silent Wave Motor autofocus with full-time manual override supports precise focusing. Buyers who need zoom flexibility or a different focal length for telephoto compression should look at other optics.

24mm f/1.4G ED Optical Design

The lens construction uses two extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements to minimise aberrations and distortion. Nano Crystal Coating suppresses flare for improved contrast. A 77mm thread accepts the included filters. This specification defines the lens's rendering character and filter compatibility.

Questions about this item

Will the 77 mm front filter thread need any special tools or periodic replacement?

The 77 mm snap-on cap threads directly onto the filter ring; no tools are required and the thread itself does not wear out under normal use.

What optical limit appears first when shooting wide open at f/1.4 for extended sessions?

Residual spherical aberration and slight corner softness are the first visible limits at f/1.4 before stopping down improves sharpness.

How much heat does the Silent Wave Motor generate during all-day autofocus use?

The Silent Wave Motor runs cool; no noticeable heat builds up in the barrel even after continuous focusing throughout a full shooting day.
