  • Works with EH-5b AC adapter for studio sessions
  • Eliminates battery changes during long shoots
  • Dedicated power connector designed for V2 camera

Nikon EP-5D Power Connector

The Nikon EP-5D is a dedicated power connector designed exclusively for the Nikon 1 V2 digital camera. It serves as the essential interface between the camera body and the EH-5b AC adapter. This accessory enables continuous mains-powered operation for studio sessions or extended shooting scenarios. It is not a standalone power supply and cannot function without the separate adapter.

Requires EH-5b AC Adapter

The EP-5D connector physically links the camera to the EH-5b AC adapter, which must be purchased separately. Using this combination eliminates battery changes during long exposures, time-lapse sequences, or video recording. It draws power directly from a wall outlet for uninterrupted performance. The connector is specific to the Nikon 1 V2 and is not compatible with other camera models.

Questions about this item

Will the EP-5D connector itself wear out and need replacing?

The EP-5D is a passive power connector with no moving parts or consumable elements, so it does not require scheduled replacement under normal use.

What limits how long I can run the Nikon 1 V2 continuously on AC power through the EP-5D?

The EP-5D simply passes power from the EH-5b AC adapter; sustained use is limited only by the adapter's thermal rating and the camera's own operating temperature range.
