All-round DX DSLR kit

The Nikon D7500 pairs a 20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor with the EXPEED 5 processor. It ships with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR zoom lens. The combination suits photographers and videographers who want a single flexible package for varied subjects.

Sustained shooting and video

Continuous shooting runs at 8 fps for up to 100 consecutive JPEGs before the buffer fills. Native sensitivity reaches ISO 51200 and expands to ISO 1,640,000 for low-light work. 4K UHD video records at 30 fps with time-lapse capability built in.

Handling and setup

The monocoque body is fully weather-sealed and uses a pentaprism optical viewfinder. A 3.2" 922k-dot tilting touchscreen simplifies composition at awkward angles. SnapBridge provides Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless transfer. Buyers who need a second card slot or a full-frame sensor should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 20.9MP sensor and EXPEED 5 processor generate during long 4K UHD video sessions at 30 fps?

The D7500 uses a magnesium-alloy monocoque body with full weather sealing that acts as a passive heatsink, so extended 4K UHD recording at 30 fps stays within thermal limits without audible fan noise.

Which memory cards and battery does the D7500 body require to shoot 8 fps bursts for up to 100 frames?

The camera takes a single UHS-I SDXC card and the EN-EL15a rechargeable lithium-ion battery; both are sold separately unless included in a specific retailer bundle.

Will my existing AF-S DX NIKKOR lenses work with the 51-point Multi-CAM 3500FX II autofocus system on this body?

Yes, every AF-S DX NIKKOR lens — including the 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR in this kit — drives autofocus through all 51 points, with 15 cross-type sensors active at the centre.
