The lens mounts directly on Nikon F-mount DSLRs and uses internal focusing so its length does not change while focusing. A Silent Wave Motor drives fast, quiet autofocus and a M/A focus mode switch allows instant manual override. The front element is fixed and deeply recessed; the lens accepts rear gel filters but cannot take front screw-in filters.
