Versatile Z-mount zoom lens

The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S is a constant-aperture zoom designed for Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. It covers wide-angle to medium telephoto perspectives in a single lens, making it suited for everyday photography and video work. The S-line optical design targets edge-to-edge sharpness with minimal distortion across the frame.

Mounting and handling notes

The lens attaches via the Nikon Z bayonet and uses internal focusing, so the barrel does not extend during autofocus. A customisable control ring sits near the mount for aperture, exposure compensation or focus adjustments. Silent stepping-motor drive keeps focus transitions smooth for video, while 5-axis Dual Detect optical VR helps steady handheld shots at slower shutter speeds.

Compatibility checklist

Confirm the camera body uses the full-frame Z mount; the lens is not compatible with F-mount DSLRs without an adapter. The constant f/4 aperture does not change across the 24-70mm range, so exposure remains stable while zooming. No tripod collar is included, so consider support needs for longer video takes or heavier camera rigs.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the constant f/4 aperture is maintained across the 24-70mm zoom range after mounting?

Zoom through the full 24-70mm range while watching the exposure readout; the aperture value should stay at f/4 without shifting.

What accessories are included in the box and which items like filters or a tripod collar must be purchased separately?

The box contains the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S lens, front and rear caps, and a lens hood; filters and a tripod collar are sold separately.

Since the product name lists a single 24-70mm f/4 S version, how do I choose the right capacity or variant for my Z camera?

There is only one 24-70mm f/4 S model; it fits all Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras without needing a different version.
