Telephoto zoom for DX Z-mount

This 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 lens is built for Nikon DX-format Z-mount mirrorless cameras. It covers a 75-375mm equivalent range suited to distant subjects and portraiture. The compact design makes it a practical choice for photographers wanting reach without bulk. Optical vibration reduction steadies handheld shots by up to 5 stops.

Reach and optical limits

The zoom spans 50-250mm, giving a 75-375mm equivalent field of view on DX sensors. One extra-low dispersion element reduces colour fringing while a Super Integrated Coating cuts ghosting and flare. Maximum aperture narrows from f/4.5 at the wide end to f/6.3 at 250mm, so low-light reach is limited compared to faster telephotos.

Stepping up from kit zooms

Photographers moving on from a standard kit zoom gain significant extra reach and 5-stop VR for sharper handheld telephoto work. The programmable control ring adds direct setting adjustment missing on basic lenses. Buyers needing wider angles, faster constant apertures or full-frame coverage should look elsewhere.

Yes, it is designed for DX-format Z-mount mirrorless cameras and mounts directly without an adapter.

How can I confirm the built-in VR is giving up to 5 stops of stabilization after setup?
