The Nikon Z 5 is an FX-format mirrorless camera body built around a 24.3MP CMOS sensor and EXPEED 6 processor. It delivers a native sensitivity range up to ISO 51200, continuous shooting at 4.5 fps and UHD 4K video at 30 fps. The 273-point hybrid autofocus combines phase-detection and contrast-detection for accurate subject tracking. Face and eye detection work for both human and animal subjects in stills and video. Photographers who need higher burst rates, dual card slots or a fully articulated screen should look at other bodies.

A magnesium alloy chassis with weather sealing protects the camera in inclement conditions. The high-resolution 3.6 m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and tilting touchscreen support composition at various angles. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enable wireless image transfer and remote control.
