55 mm variable ND filter for creative exposure

The Nisi True Color Swift ND-Vario fits lenses and adapters with a 55 mm standard filter thread. It provides continuous exposure reduction from 1 to 5 stops, corresponding to a density range of 0.3 to 1.5. A removable stainless steel control handle allows precise density adjustments without fingers entering the frame.

Consistent density through the full rotation range

External markings on the slim aluminium frame show the selected stop value, while a tactile hard stop at both 1 and 5 stops prevents accidental over-rotation. The nano-coated optical glass maintains neutral colour balance and resists water, smudges and reflections during extended shooting sessions. Vignetting is minimised by the single-filter design.

1 to 5 stop range covers ND2 to ND32 equivalence

This filter replaces a stack of fixed ND filters for most daylight video and long-exposure stills work. Buyers who need more than 5 stops of reduction or a larger thread size will require a different model.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.5-stop maximum density add noticeable heat or power draw during long video sessions?

No, the filter is a passive glass element that simply reduces light by up to 1.5 stops; it generates no heat and draws no power.

My lens has a 55 mm front thread — is that the only requirement for this filter to work?

Yes, the filter mounts directly on any 55 mm thread; no adapter rings, step-up rings or additional accessories are needed.

Will the nano-coated optical glass maintain sharpness on my older 55 mm manual-focus primes?

The high-quality optical glass and nano coating are designed for true-to-life color and sharpness, so they preserve detail on legacy 55 mm lenses without introducing vignetting.
