Full-frame 18mm cinema prime

The NiSi Athena Prime 18mm T2.2 is a full-frame cinema lens with a 46mm imaging circle and a constant T2.2 aperture. It is built for filmmakers who need consistent wide-angle coverage and matched handling across the Athena series.

Mount and filter thread check

Verify that your camera uses the Leica L mount before ordering. The integrated filter holder uses a specific system, so confirm your existing filters or matte box accessories are compatible with this lens’s front design.

Consistent build and daily handling

The lens shares weight and ring positions with other Athena primes, so follow-focus gears and rig balance stay the same when swapping focal lengths. The unified filter holder lets you add filtration without re-rigging the matte box, speeding up lens changes on set.

Questions about this item

Does the NiSi Athena Prime 18mm T2.2 include the filter holder or must it be purchased separately?

The product title confirms the filter holder is supplied with the lens, so no separate purchase is required for that accessory.

Which mount version should I select for a full-frame Leica L camera?

Choose the Leica L mount version; its 46 mm imaging circle covers full-frame sensors and matches the native flange distance of L-mount bodies.

What does the T2.2 rating mean for exposure when I put this lens on a cinema camera?

T2.2 is the true light-transmission value, so exposure settings match the marked aperture without the light loss common to f-stop ratings.
