Canon TS-E 17mm lens adapter

This anodized aluminium-alloy ring converts the 82mm thread of the Canon TS-E 17mm lens to accept a NiSi 150mm filter holder. It is built for architectural and landscape photographers who need precise tilt-shift control combined with large-format filtration. The 3.23-inch diameter matches the lens front exactly, so vignetting is avoided at extreme shift positions. A protective plastic case is included for storage.

Sustained field use

The aluminium construction resists corrosion and thread wear during repeated mounting cycles in humid or dusty environments. No moving parts or coatings degrade under prolonged exposure to UV or temperature swings. The rigid ring keeps the 150mm holder aligned through long exposures and multi-shot panoramas without creep. It adds negligible mass to the front of the lens, preserving balance on a tripod head.

Upgrade path

This adapter replaces makeshift step-up rings or improvised holder brackets that cannot maintain the 150mm holder parallel to the sensor plane. The jump is worth it when you move from screw-in filters to a square-filter system for graduated ND or polariser rotation. It is not for photographers using lenses other than the Canon TS-E 17mm or holders outside the NiSi 150mm system.
