What it is and who it's for

The NiSi JetMag Pro 49MAG is a magnetic variable ND filter offering 1-5 stops of light reduction for photographers and videographers. It combines adjustable exposure control with built-in polarisation management in a compact design suited to fast-paced creative workflows.

Sustained load behaviour

True Color nano-coating maintains neutral tones and consistent colour fidelity across the full variable range during extended shoots. Hard stops at minimum and maximum settings prevent over-rotation and cross-polarisation artefacts that can ruin footage over time.

Install and common pitfalls

The JetMag Pro magnetic mount enables rapid, secure attachment and removal on compatible rigs or gimbals. A detachable lever and dual-sided markings aid precise adjustment, though the system requires the specific 49MAG magnetic adapter ring for proper installation.

Questions about this item

Does the magnetic mount add heat or drain power during long shoots?

The JetMag Pro 49MAG filter is a passive optical accessory with no electronics, so it generates no heat and draws no power.

What lens thread or adapter do I need to attach this 49MAG filter?

You need a lens with a 49 mm front thread or a step-up ring that converts your lens thread to 49 mm for the magnetic adapter ring to mount.

Will the hard-stop mechanism work smoothly on my older manual-focus lenses?

Yes, the precision hard stops at minimum and maximum ND positions function independently of the lens focus or aperture mechanism.
