Tee fitting insulation for 7/8 in tube

This Nomaco Kflex tee fitting insulation is made from NBR/PVC material in black. It fits a tube size of 7/8 in with a nominal inside diameter of 7/8 in and is designed for use on ducts, tanks and piping. The wall thickness is 1 in and the approximate R value is 7.0.

Suits installers needing thermal protection to 220

The insulation operates from -297 degrees F to 220 degrees F, so it suits systems that stay within that range. It is not for buyers who need a higher temperature rating or a different tube diameter. The pre-formed tee shape also means it will not work on straight runs or elbows.

Pre-formed tee saves cutting time on site

The part arrives shaped as a tee with a length of 23/32 in and width of 2 7/8 in, removing the need to fabricate a fitting from sheet stock. The black NBR/PVC body provides the stated R value without additional coatings. No adhesives or tapes are included in the package.

Questions about this item

What pipe outer diameter must I already have for this 1" thick tee fitting to fit?

The insulation is sized for a 7/8 in tube outer diameter, which corresponds to a 3/4 in nominal pipe size.

Will this NBR/PVC tee insulation stay flexible if I run it next to older copper lines that see -297 °F?

The material is rated from -297 °F to 220 °F, so it remains flexible and insulating across that full range.

How can I confirm the tee piece is delivering its rated R-7.0 performance after installation?

Measure the surface temperature on the insulation outer skin; it should be close to ambient when the pipe carries fluid at design temperature.
