Nomaco Kflex 801-LRE-048118 1-1/8" x 3/4" Elastomeric Elbow Pipe Fitting

SKU CH-K32V-9CPAK

Elastomeric 90-degree elbow fitting insulates 1-1/8 in tube with 1/2 in wall, rated -297 to 220 °F, R-value 3.1, flame spread 25, antimicrobial and plenum rated

  • Product typeTarps
  • Insulates pipes to R-3.1 with closed-cell Buna-N/PVC foam
  • Withstands -297 °F to 220 °F for extreme environments
  • Meets flame-spread 25 and plenum rating for code compliance
  • Antimicrobial, fire-retardant material resists mould and flame spread
  • Pre-formed 90-degree elbow fits 1-1/8 in OD tubing directly

Application fit

This Nomaco Kflex elastomeric elbow fitting suits HVAC and refrigeration installers who need a 90-degree turn on 3/4 inch pipe with 1-1/8 inch tube outside diameter. The closed-cell Buna-N rubber/PVC construction resists microbial growth and meets plenum-rated requirements for air-handling spaces. Builders needing straight-run insulation or a different pipe diameter will not find a match here.

Thermal and fire performance

The insulation operates continuously from -297 degrees F up to 220 degrees F and carries a flame spread index of 25. An R-value of 3.1 provides consistent thermal resistance across the 1/2 inch wall thickness. The unslit format means the installer must slit and seal the fitting on site, so allow time for that step during rough-in.

Sustained service behaviour

Under long-term temperature cycling the closed-cell foam retains flexibility and antimicrobial properties without settling or crumbling. The material stays plenum compliant after repeated exposure to the full rated range. Projects that require pre-slit insulation or a lower flame-spread rating will need an alternative product.

Questions about this item

How do I install the unslit 90-degree elbow on a 1-1/8" tube without splitting it?

Slide the pre-formed elbow over the tube end before joining the pipe run; the unslit design requires the tube to pass through the full 90-degree bend, so plan the routing order accordingly.

Will the Buna-N/PVC elastomer need replacement due to UV or ozone exposure outdoors?

The closed-cell foam resists antimicrobial growth and is flame-retardant, but the material is not rated for direct UV exposure; protect it with jacketing or paint if installed outside.

At what temperature does the insulation start to degrade during continuous steam-line service?

The maximum continuous operating temperature is 220 °F; sustained exposure above this limit will accelerate ageing of the Buna-N/PVC blend.
