Elastomeric 90-Degree Elbow

This Nomaco Kflex pipe fitting is a 90-degree elbow designed for thermal insulation on piping systems. It suits mechanical contractors and maintenance teams working on HVAC, refrigeration or process lines that require flexible, closed-cell coverage at changes of direction.

Buna-N/PVC Construction

The fitting uses a Buna-N rubber and PVC blend with a closed-cell foam structure that resists moisture ingress and microbial growth. Its unslit format means the installer must cut the insulation on site, while the plenum rating and flame spread index of 25 allow use in air-handling spaces without additional wrap.

Replaces Damaged or Missing Elbow Insulation

The part upgrades bare copper or steel elbows that are losing energy or sweating in service temperatures between -297 and 220 degrees F. The jump is worth it when an existing elbow has deteriorated, when a system is re-piped at 3-1/8 inch outside diameter, or when code requires plenum-rated insulation with an R-value of 3.1.

Questions about this item

What flame spread index does the elastomeric elbow meet?

The fitting carries a flame spread index of 25 and is plenum rated for use in air-handling spaces.

What pipe outside diameter does the 3-1/8" elbow fit?

It is sized for tube outside diameter of 3 1/8 in with a 3/4 in wall thickness.

How is the unslit elbow installed on existing pipe?

The unslit design requires sliding the elbow over the pipe end before the joint is made; it cannot wrap around installed pipe.
