4-Inch Canless Recessed Downlight

This 4-inch LED recessed downlight installs directly from below the ceiling without a housing can. The IC-rated fixture is safe for direct contact with insulation and carries a wet-location rating for indoor or outdoor use. It is sold as a six-pack for whole-room or multi-room projects.

Sustained Output And Colour Consistency

The edge-lit LED array delivers 580 lumens, matching a 55-watt incandescent equivalent, for 35,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. Five selectable colour temperatures from 2700K to 6500K let you adjust the light from warm to cool without swapping fixtures. A 90 CRI keeps fabric, furnishings and paint colours accurate over the full lifespan.

Spring-Clip Install And Common Pitfalls

Spring clips secure the slim module into a standard cut-out from below, so no attic access is required. The low-profile body fits tight joist bays, but the fixed 4-inch diameter will not cover larger or irregular openings. Buyers needing a different aperture size or a non-round trim will need another product.

Questions about this item

How much power does each 580-lumen downlight draw when run continuously?

Each unit replaces a 55-watt incandescent while delivering 580 lumens, so the LED draw is far lower and produces minimal heat during all-day use.

Does the canless design need a separate housing or junction box to mount?

No housing is required; the IC-rated fixture installs directly against insulation and connects to the existing ceiling wiring.

Will the 90 CRI output stay consistent with older dimmers I already have?

The dimmable driver works with standard residential dimmers, and the 90 CRI ensures colours remain accurate across all five selectable temperatures.
