6-in LED Downlight for Wet Locations

The Nord MQTL1121A-L14K9027 is a 6-inch canless recessed downlight rated for wet locations and direct contact with insulation. It suits homeowners and contractors who need a single fixture for indoor ceilings or protected outdoor soffits without a separate housing.

Sustained Output and Colour Consistency

Edge-lit LED technology delivers 850 lumens with a 90 CRI for accurate colour rendering across 35,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. Five selectable colour temperatures from 2700K to 6500K remain stable during extended use rather than shifting after a short warm-up period.

Installation Limits of the Canless Format

The fixture installs from below the ceiling through a 6-inch cut-out, eliminating the need for a housing can. It is not suited for ceilings that lack the clearance for the driver module or for projects that require a traditional housing for fire-rated assemblies.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power does each 850-lumen downlight draw during all-day use?

Each unit replaces an 85-watt incandescent, so actual draw is far lower; the edge-lit LED runs cool enough for direct insulation contact and wet locations.

What existing wiring or junction box is required to install the canless kit?

The fixture mounts directly to the ceiling cut-out with its built-in driver — no separate housing or recessed can is needed.

Will the 90 CRI and 2700 K–6500 K range match the colour quality of older halogen spots I keep?

Yes, the 90 CRI renders fabrics and paint accurately, and the five selectable colour temperatures let you match or improve on halogen warmth.
