AGM battery for UPS backup

The NPP HR1234W is a 12 V sealed lead‑acid battery rated at 34 W per cell and 204 W total. It is built for uninterruptible power supplies, emergency lighting, medical equipment, alarm systems and generators where reliable backup power is required.

Sustained discharge behaviour

The high‑rate design delivers a smooth discharging voltage and a mild discharge platform, maintaining steady output during extended outages rather than only in short bursts. Low self‑discharge of less than 3 % means the cell holds its charge during long periods of standby.

Thermals and safety construction

The case uses non‑conductive ABS plastic that resists shock, vibration, chemicals, weather and heat. AGM and VRLA technology makes the unit maintenance‑free and spill‑proof, eliminating over‑pressure risk while keeping operating temperatures stable under normal load.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the HR1234W generate when it powers a UPS continuously?

The sealed AGM design uses a low self-discharge rate below 3 % and valve-regulated construction, so it produces minimal heat during normal float operation.

What terminal type does the HR1234W need to connect to my existing UPS?

The unit ships with F2 faston tabs; your UPS must accept that blade width for a direct fit.

Will the 5.94 x 2.56 x 3.7 inch case fit the battery tray of my older APC Back-UPS?

Those dimensions match the standard 12 V 9 Ah footprint, so it slides into the same tray without modification.
