A 3.3V 90A server power supply with active PFC, constant current limiting and remote sense, delivering 297W in a 1U low-profile chassis
This NShi server chassis integrates a Mean Well HRPG-450-3.3 single-output power supply delivering 3.3V at 90A for a total of 297W. It is designed for desktop-format systems requiring a compact, forced-air-cooled power solution with active PFC and full-range AC input.
The chassis replaces power supplies lacking active power-factor correction or constant current limiting. The jump is worthwhile when a build demands 100% full-load burn-in validation, remote sense capability and a DC OK signal for monitoring. It also adds remote ON/OFF control with a 5V 0.3A standby output.
The unit comfortably handles continuous loads up to its rated output while maintaining no-load consumption below 0.5W. It withstands 300VAC surge input for 5 seconds and includes short-circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature protections. Headroom diminishes when sustained draw approaches the 297W limit or when current-sharing is required beyond the supported 24, 36 or 48 configurations.

The unit is a 1U low-profile desktop chassis designed to fit standard 1U rack or shelf spaces.
Mount the chassis, connect the universal AC input, then wire the remote sense terminals to the load to compensate for voltage drop; skipping the sense wiring leaves the output unregulated at the load.
The built-in DC fan provides forced-air cooling; inspect it periodically for dust build-up or bearing noise and replace it if airflow drops.
