1008 W DC-DC Server Power Supply

This NShi server chassis houses a Meanwell SD-1000L-48 switching power supply that delivers 1008 W at 48 V with a 0–21 A output range. The unit is supplied new in an enclosed metal shell designed for desktop server installations.

Suited for 48 V DC server builds.

The supply targets integrators who need a dedicated 48 V DC source for rack or desktop server equipment. Builders working with standard ATX motherboards or consumer graphics cards should look elsewhere because the connector layout and voltage rail do not match those platforms.

1008 W continuous capacity with 21 A ceiling

The converter comfortably handles loads up to the full 1008 W rating while maintaining the specified 48 V output. Demand beyond 21 A will exceed the unit's designed headroom, so systems requiring higher current on the 48 V rail must select a larger supply.

Questions about this item

What input voltage source is required for the 48 V 21 A output to work?

The SD-1000L-48 is a DC-DC converter, so it needs a compatible DC input source within the range specified by the Mean Well SD-1000 series datasheet.

Can this chassis power supply run in parallel with an older Mean Well unit I already own?

Parallel operation is only supported if the older unit is an identical SD-1000L-48 model with current-sharing capability; mixing different models is not recommended.

How do I verify the 1008 W 48 V output is operating correctly after installation?

Measure the output terminals with a multimeter under load; a stable reading near 48 V up to 21 A confirms the converter is working as intended.
