Travel-ready power strip

The NTONPOWER unit adds two 125 V AC outlets and three USB-A ports that share a 5 V 3.1 A total, letting a traveller charge a phone, tablet, laptop and two other gadgets from one wall socket. Its 0.5 lb weight and 3.62 by 2.36 by 1.57 inch body fits in a palm or pocket for business trips and vacations.

Cruise-compliant upgrade

Because the strip has no surge protection it meets cruise-line rules that reject protected boards, replacing the single cabin outlet with five ports for essential devices. The jump is worth it when a sailing or hotel stay leaves only one accessible receptacle and multiple devices need power overnight.

Flat-plug install notes

The 0.39 inch flat plug with 45 degree right-angle design slips behind furniture and leaves the lower duplex outlet free. The 3 ft cord wraps around the unit with a rubber band for tidy packing; the only common snag is forgetting that the USB ports share the 3.1 A limit, so high-draw tablets charge slower together.

Questions about this item

How much space does the 3.62 by 2.36 by 1.57 inch unit need on a desk or nightstand?

The strip measures 3.62 by 2.36 by 1.57 inches and weighs 0.5 lb, so it fits in a palm or pocket and occupies roughly the footprint of a credit card.

What is the correct way to plug in the flat 45-degree angled plug so it does not block the lower wall outlet?

Insert the 0.39 inch flat plug with the 45-degree right angle facing downward; this orients the cord parallel to the wall and leaves the second receptacle free.

When should the rubber wrap-around band on the 3 ft cord be replaced?

Replace the band if it loses elasticity or shows cracks, otherwise the cord itself requires no scheduled maintenance.
