ConnectX-5 100GbE Single-Port Adapter

The NVIDIA ConnectX-5 EN MCX515A-CCAT is a 100GbE network interface card with one QSFP28 port. It suits data-centre servers and high-performance clusters that need low-latency 100 gigabit connectivity. The card uses a standard PCI Express slot and targets administrators building 100GbE fabrics.

Installation Notes and Common Issues

The adapter fits a full-height PCIe slot and uses a QSFP28 transceiver or direct-attach cable not included in the box. Verify that the server BIOS and operating-system driver support the ConnectX-5 100GbE controller before installation. Firmware mismatch between the card and switch often causes link negotiation failures.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the ConnectX-5 EN 100GbE NIC is operating at full 100 Gb/s after installation?

Check the link speed reported by the OS or switch management; a negotiated 100 Gb/s rate on the QSFP28 port confirms the MCX515A-CCAT is running as intended.

What ships with the MCX515A-CCAT and what must I source separately?

The adapter card itself is included; a compatible QSFP28 transceiver or direct-attach cable and any required bracket are not supplied and must be purchased separately.
