24 GB GDDR6X graphics card with 16,384 CUDA cores, 384-bit memory interface and 450 W TDP for 4K 120 Hz and 8K 60 Hz gaming
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition is a 24 GB graphics card built for 4K and 8K workloads. It uses a PCI Express 4.0 interface and delivers a boost clock of 2520 MHz. The board includes 16384 CUDA cores and GDDR6X memory on a 384-bit bus.
Thermal design power is rated at 450 W with an 850 W power supply recommended. The Founders Edition cooler moves heat through a dual-flow design that exhausts partly out the rear bracket. Under load the fan curve ramps to keep the GPU near its boost frequency while maintaining acceptable acoustic levels.
One HDMI 2.1a port and three DisplayPort connectors drive up to four displays at 7680 x 4320 resolution. The metal frame and compact two-slot width leave room for adjacent expansion cards in standard ATX cases. A single 12VHPWR connector supplies all board power without extra cables.

Plug the 12VHPWR cable fully into the recessed socket until the latch clicks; the step people miss is verifying the click and checking that no pins are visible, otherwise the 450W load can melt the connector.
Dust the dual axial fans and vapor-chamber heatsink with compressed air every few months; the thermal pads and GDDR6X memory solder joints are not user-serviceable.
The 450W thermal design power hits the cooling capacity of the dual-flow-through fans first, causing the GPU to throttle boost clocks below 2520 MHz to stay within temperature targets.
