Professional Visual Computing

The NVIDIA Quadro RTX 8000 is a workstation graphics card built for the most demanding visual computing tasks. It features 4608 CUDA cores and 48 GB of GDDR6 memory connected via a PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface. The passive cooling design suits rack-mounted or noise-sensitive environments.

Ideal Workloads and Limits

This card targets professionals running large-scale rendering, complex simulation or deep-learning training that require maximum GPU memory. Buyers whose projects fit comfortably in smaller frame buffers will not gain a capacity advantage from this model. Workstations without adequate airflow for a passive heat sink should look at actively cooled alternatives.

Decisive Specification

The 48 GB GDDR6 memory capacity is the single figure that determines whether this is the right part. Only workloads that exceed the capacity of lesser cards can utilise the full benefit of this configuration.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 48 GB GDDR6 passive card generate under full load?

The card has no fan; it relies on the workstation chassis airflow to dissipate heat from the 4608 CUDA cores and 576 Tensor Cores.

What power connectors and bus slot does the RTX 8000 require?

It installs in a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and draws auxiliary power through the standard workstation power cables.

Will the Quadro RTX 8000 work with my older PCIe 2.0 motherboard?

Yes, the PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface is backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 slots, though bandwidth is reduced.
