4-Inch Brass Cleanout Plug for Drain Access

This Oatey 42745 brass plug provides a secure closure for four-inch nominal pipe openings. The recessed square drive allows installation and removal with a standard wrench. Male NPT threads ensure compatibility with matching female fittings. It is intended for residential and commercial drainage systems.

Verify Pipe Size and Thread Type Before Purchase

Confirm that the existing cleanout fitting accepts a four-inch male NPT connection. The recessed square drive requires a correctly sized wrench for proper torque. Brass construction suits standard drainage applications but may not meet requirements for high-pressure or specialised chemical systems. Check local plumbing codes for material acceptance.

Questions about this item

Does the OATEY 42745 brass cleanout plug ship with a gasket or sealant, or must those be purchased separately?

The plug is supplied as a single brass component with a recessed square drive; no gasket, washer or thread sealant is included, so PTFE tape or pipe dope and any required gasket must be sourced separately.

Should I choose the 4-inch nominal size for a 4-inch iron pipe, or is another diameter listed for this model?

Model 42745 is offered only in a 4-inch nominal pipe size with a 4-inch outside diameter and male NPT threads; no other diameters or versions exist for this part number.
