OATEY 43579 Straight Floor Drain
This PVC floor drain fits 2-inch or 3-inch solvent-weld connections. The round body includes a stainless-steel strainer and grate secured by screws. It meets ASME A112.18.2-2020 and CSA B125.2-20 standards for plumbing installations.
Solvent-weld joint holds under constant flow
The solvent-cement bond creates a permanent seal that resists leakage during continuous drainage. Stainless-steel strainer withstands repeated water exposure without corrosion. Plastic body maintains shape under normal operating temperatures.
Replaces worn or missing floor drains
Use when an existing drain body is cracked, corroded or absent. The 4-1/4-inch flange covers standard openings. Not suited for ligature-resistant environments or applications requiring adjustable height above the flange.

Questions about this item
Will the solvent-weld joints on this PVC drain handle continuous hot-water discharge without leaking?
The drain meets ASME A112.18.2-2020 and CSA B125.2-20 standards, and its solvent-cement connection is designed for permanent, leak-free joints in typical plumbing service.
What pipe and fittings must I have on site to install this floor drain?
You need 2-inch nominal PVC pipe with a 3-inch outside diameter plus compatible solvent cement and primer to make the solvent-weld connection.
Can the stainless-steel strainer be removed so an older brass cleanout plug still fits the 2-inch opening?
The drain includes a screw-in stainless-steel strainer; removing it exposes the 2-inch nominal hub, allowing a compatible brass plug to thread in if the threads match.
