Extension cable for USB-A devices

This OKRAY cable extends the reach between a computer or laptop and any USB-A peripheral by six feet. It carries a USB 2.0 signal rated at 480 Mbps and uses gold-plated connectors with a nylon braided jacket. The male-to-female design lets you plug existing cables or devices directly into the extension. Two cables are included in purple and green.

Suits users who need extra length for desktop

Buyers who want to keep a keyboard, mouse, webcam, flash drive, printer or game controller connected across a wider desk will find the length useful. The braided construction resists tangling and protects the host port from frequent insertion cycles. It is not for anyone who requires USB 3.0 or higher bandwidth for external SSDs or video capture devices.

Check that your device and host both use USB-A ports

The extension only works with Type-A male and Type-A female connectors, so verify the plug on your existing cable matches. Confirm the port on your computer, hub or console is also a standard USB-A receptacle. No driver installation is needed, but total cable run including your original cord should stay within USB 2.0 length limits for reliable operation.

Questions about this item

Do I need a USB Type-A port on my computer for this cable to work?

Yes, the male end plugs into a standard USB Type-A port on the host device.

Will this extension slow down my USB 2.0 flash drive rated at 480 Mbps?

The cable supports USB 2.0 speeds up to 480 Mbps, so it will not reduce the drive's rated performance.

How can I confirm the 6 ft cables are functioning at USB 2.0 speed after connecting them?

Check the host device reports a 480 Mbps link and verify normal file-transfer rates for the attached peripheral.
