Active USB 2.0 Extension 32 ft

This active USB 2.0 extension cable reaches 32 ft with a built-in signal amplification chip. It connects a USB-A host such as a PC or laptop to USB-A peripherals including printers, keyboards, mice and cameras. The cable supports a stable 480 Mbps Hi-Speed transfer rate over the full length.

USB 2.0 bandwidth and backward compatibility

The link operates at the USB 2.0 maximum of 480 Mbps and is backward compatible with USB 1.1 devices. When used with USB 3.0 or 3.2 hosts and peripherals the connection falls back to USB 2.0 or 1.1 speeds. No external auxiliary power is required at this length.

Male-to-female USB-A connector gender

The cable terminates in a USB Type-A male plug on the host side and a USB Type-A female receptacle on the device side. This gender arrangement only extends existing USB-A cables; it cannot connect two hosts directly or adapt to USB-B, USB-C or Micro-B ports.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 32 ft active cable or a shorter passive one?

The 32 ft active cable uses a built-in signal amplification chip to maintain stable 480 Mbps Hi-Speed transfer over the full length, while passive cables typically lose signal beyond 5 metres.

What does 480 Mbps mean for my printer or camera?

It delivers full USB 2.0 Hi-Speed bandwidth, enough for 1080p camera streams, fast document printing, and responsive keyboard or mouse input without lag.

Does the USB 2.0 Type-A interface limit what I can connect?

The cable accepts any USB 2.0, 1.1 or 3.x Type-A device, but all traffic runs at 480 Mbps maximum regardless of the peripheral's higher rated speed.
