Olympus America Inc. PRF-D46 PRO 46mm Multi-Coated Protection Filter

Essential lens protection

The Olympus PRF-D46 PRO is a 46mm multi-coated protection filter built for photographers and videographers who want to shield their front element from scratches, dust and accidental impact. Its clear optical design does not alter visible light, so image quality remains unchanged while the glass takes the abuse. The ultra-thin, lightweight frame adds negligible bulk to the lens barrel. It is not suited for shooters who need creative effects such as polarisation or neutral density.

Sustained clarity in daily use

The multi-coating minimises reflections and glare across extended shooting sessions, maintaining contrast even when bright light sources enter the frame. Because the filter simply protects without adding optical density, exposure settings stay consistent from the first shot to the last. There is no colour shift or vignetting introduced over time, so the lens performs exactly as it would without glass in front.

Thermals noise and power

As a passive glass accessory the filter generates no heat, draws no power and produces no audible noise during operation. It imposes no thermal load on the lens or camera body and requires no batteries or electronic communication. The only physical consideration is the 46mm thread, which must match the lens diameter for a secure fit.
