Genuine DMD/DLP Chip for EX540

This genuine OEM DMD/DLP chip is designed for the Optoma EX540 projector. It replaces a worn or faulty imaging component to restore a clear picture. The part has been extensively tested at least three times to confirm no dead pixels. It arrives new with a 60 day warranty.

Verify Exact Model Compatibility

Before ordering, confirm that your projector is the EX540 model. DMD/DLP chips are not interchangeable across different projector models or series. Check the service label on your unit to ensure an exact match. Installing an incorrect chip will not function and may cause further damage.

Direct Component Replacement

The chip installs directly into the EX540 optical engine, replacing the original DMD/DLP assembly. No additional adapters or firmware updates are required for the swap. Replacing this component frees the projector from image artefacts such as stuck pixels or colour degradation. Professional installation is recommended due to the precision alignment needed.

Questions about this item

Does the Optoma EX540 DMD/DLP chip come with any installation hardware or tools, or must those be purchased separately?

The chip is supplied as a standalone component; no screws, thermal paste or tools are included, so you will need to source those separately for the swap.

The listing mentions a 60-day warranty — does that cover the chip itself or the whole projector after installation?

The 60-day warranty applies to the replacement DMD/DLP chip only; it does not extend to the projector or any other parts.

After fitting this chip into an EX540, what does the 540 model designation tell me about the resulting image?

The EX540 designation identifies the projector series this chip is built for; it confirms native resolution and optical alignment match that model.
