Wireless HDMI Extender for Home Streaming

The Orei WHD-165-K transmits a 1080p signal up to 165 feet over a 5.1 to 5.2 GHz band. It suits homeowners who want a second TV or projector fed from a laptop or media player without running cables. The kit includes transmitter, receiver, two power adapters, IR emitter, IR receiver and a manual. It is not intended for real-time gaming, live camera work or interactive PC use due to latency.

Loopout and IR Return Add Flexibility

The transmitter provides an HDMI loopout so a local display can stay connected near the source. Full-band IR return at 30 to 60 kHz lets a remote control operate the source device from the receiver location. Up to four extra receivers can be added later, each sold separately. HDCP 1.4 support covers protected content at 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions.

Plug-and-Play Setup with Line-of-Sight Limits

No software installation is required; the units pair automatically and offer SSID pairing plus channel switching to avoid interference. The signal needs direct line of sight and will not pass through walls, losing significant distance if obstructed. Latency sits at .3 to 1 second, so interactive applications will feel sluggish. International users receive a plug adapter for the dual-voltage power supplies.

Questions about this item

Will the transmitter loop-out port need servicing over time?

The transmitter includes an HDMI loop-out for a local display; it is a passive port with no moving parts and no user-serviceable components.

What distance limit appears first when the extender runs continuously?

The wireless link is rated for up to 165 feet line-of-sight; walls or obstacles will reduce usable range before any thermal limit is reached.

How much heat or fan noise does the set produce during all-day use?

Both units are passively cooled with no fans; they run silently and generate only modest warmth during continuous operation.
