What it is

The Orico CB05 is a 128GB USB flash drive with both USB-A and USB-C connectors. It reads up to 150MB/s and writes up to 70MB/s over USB 3.0. The zinc-alloy swivel body weighs 0.05KG and includes a lanyard. It works with Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPadOS without extra software.

Who it suits

Users who move files between older USB-A ports and newer USB-C devices such as iPhone 15, 16, 17 and Android phones will find the dual connector convenient. Photographers and video creators needing up to 128GB for 1080P footage can use the 40-hour capacity reference. Buyers who want more storage or who rely on faster interfaces should look at something else.

Deciding specification

The single figure that decides fit is the dual USB-A and USB-C interface. If your workflow requires plugging directly into both port types without an adapter, this drive meets that need. If you only use one port type or need a different connector standard, another drive will be more appropriate.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 128 GB version or one of the other capacities?

The 128 GB model holds roughly 40 hours of 1080P video; 32 GB and 64 GB are smaller, while 256 GB stores about 80 hours of 1080P video.

What does the 150 MB/s read speed mean when I copy files to my laptop?

In practice a 4 GB HD movie transfers in about 27 seconds and 1000 photos in roughly 5 seconds on a USB 3.0 port.

The drive has both USB-A and USB-C connectors — what standard do they use and what speed does that limit me to?

Both connectors run on USB 3.0, so the maximum throughput is capped at the 150 MB/s read and 70 MB/s write figures.
