Compact polypropylene waste assembly
The Orion WA-3 is a 1 1/2 inch threaded drain assembly moulded from black polypropylene. Its corrosion-resistant body meets ASME A 112.6. 4 standards for plumbing installations. The round, bottom-outlet design fits nominal 1 1/2 inch pipe in residential or light-commercial systems.
Thermals noise and power draw
As a passive plumbing component the trap generates no heat, noise or electrical draw during normal operation. The plastic construction resists corrosion from typical waste fluids without requiring power or moving parts. Flow performance depends entirely on the connected piping layout and fixture usage.
What the bundle changes
The package supplies the complete waste assembly ready for threaded IPS connection. No additional gaskets, tools or sealants are included in the box. Installers must provide compatible pipe, thread tape or compound and any required support hardware separately.

Questions about this item
How do I install the Orion WA-3 trap and which step is commonly missed?
Thread the 1 1/2 in. IPS connections onto the drain pipe and waste arm, then tighten by hand plus one-quarter turn with a strap wrench; the step often missed is checking the outlet faces straight down so the trap seal stays full.
What maintenance will the polypropylene trap need over time?
Remove the cleanout plug once a year, flush with hot water and a bottle brush to clear hair and soap buildup, then reinstall the plug hand-tight; the plastic body resists corrosion so no protective coating is required.
What limit appears first when the trap runs continuously under heavy flow?
The 1 1/2 in. nominal pipe size restricts peak discharge before the polypropylene body reaches its deformation temperature, so sustained flow above the drain line capacity will back up at the trap first.
