Digital stomp box for guitarists

The Ortega Horse Kick Pro is a digital stomp box that adds a percussive element for guitarists, singer-songwriters, and street performers. It uses digital samples of real percussion sounds rather than an analog mechanism. The unit connects directly to an amplifier or sound system and eliminates feedback issues.

Suited for solo acts needing percussion

This stomp box suits solo musicians who want a simple foot-operated percussion sound without a full drum kit. It is not for players who need multiple independent percussion voices, extensive sample editing, or MIDI integration for external modules. Builders requiring a traditional acoustic stomp feel should look elsewhere.

Consistent output during extended sets

The digital sample engine delivers the same percussive tone each time it is triggered, avoiding the level drops or feedback squeal that can affect acoustic stomp boxes over a long performance. Its direct connection to an amplifier or PA maintains a stable signal through a full street set or club gig.

Questions about this item

What type of amplifier or sound system input does the Horse Kick Pro require to connect?

The Horse Kick Pro connects to a standard instrument-level input on an amplifier or PA system using a 1/4-inch TS cable.

Can the Horse Kick Pro be used simultaneously with an acoustic stomp box on the same pedalboard?

Yes, it occupies its own floor space and sends a separate line-level signal, so it can sit alongside an acoustic stomp box without signal interference.

How do I confirm the five digital samples are triggering correctly during sound-check?

Tap the playing surface at performance velocity; each of the five onboard percussion samples should sound cleanly through the connected amplifier with no acoustic feedback.
