OSIR 280 281 XXL 5-pack compatible cartridges

This five-pack supplies Canon PIXMA printers with one 280XXL pigment black cartridge and four 281XXL cartridges in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. It is aimed at home and small-office users who print mixed documents and photos on a regular basis. The set covers a wide range of TR and TS series models listed in the compatibility data. Each cartridge is new and ready to install.

Replaces Canon PGI-280 and CLI-281 originals

The pack substitutes the manufacturer’s standard and high-yield cartridges with aftermarket equivalents that fit the same slots. The jump is worthwhile when print volume makes the cost per page of originals a concern and when the listed page yields match the user’s typical workload. Buyers who need guaranteed OEM colour accuracy for professional proofing may prefer the original cartridges.

Capacity and headroom per colour

The 280XXL pigment black delivers about 600 pages at five percent coverage, while the 281XXL black is rated at 6360 pages under the same conditions. Each colour cartridge — cyan, magenta and yellow — yields roughly 830 pages. These figures suit moderate to heavy document printing; high-volume photo output will deplete the colour inks faster than the ratings suggest.

Questions about this item

Does the 5-pack include both the PGI-280XXL and CLI-281XXL cartridge shapes?

Yes, the pack contains one 280XXL PGBK cartridge and four 281XXL cartridges in Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow.

Do I need to remove a seal or tab before inserting the 280XXL PGBK cartridge into my PIXMA TR8520?

Peel off the orange protective tape and the plastic cap on the 280XXL PGBK cartridge, then insert it straight into the PGBK slot until it clicks.

When should I replace the 281XXL Cyan cartridge if I print mostly photos on glossy paper?

The 281XXL Cyan is rated for about 830 pages at 5 % coverage; photo printing uses more ink, so expect to replace it sooner than the page-yield figure.
