Aircraft Halogen Bulb 48W 6.6A

The OSRAM 64337C IRC is a 48 watt halogen bulb rated at 6.6 amps for aircraft and airfield lighting systems. It delivers a colour rendering index of 100 and an average rated life of 3000 hours. The bulb uses a PK30d base with male flat connectors for current-controlled circuits.

Connector and Current Constraints

This model only fits fixtures designed for male flat connectors; it will not mate with female flat or round connector sockets. Operation is limited to 6.6 amp constant-current series circuits, so it cannot be used on standard mains voltage or alternative current ratings. The 3000 hour rating applies only when the specified current is maintained.

Simple Two-Wire Installation

Installation consists of pushing the male flat connectors into the matching socket until they seat firmly. The most common issue is inserting the bulb into a female connector variant, which prevents electrical contact. Verifying the connector gender and the 6.6 amp circuit before fitting avoids the only typical error.

Questions about this item

Which connector version should I select for my airfield fixture?

Choose the male flat connector version 64337C when the socket accepts a male flat plug; female flat (64337A) and female round (64337B) variants are also listed for different sockets.

What does the 48 watt 6.6 amp rating mean once the bulb is installed?

The lamp draws 6.6 A constant current and consumes 48 W, delivering full output immediately in series airfield circuits.

How does the PK30d base with male flat connectors limit compatibility?

The PK30d base with male flat pins only fits sockets designed for that exact pin layout; it will not mate with female flat or female round connector sockets.
