Professional Film Lighting Source

The OSRAM HMI 575W/SEL UVS is a 575 watt metal halide discharge lamp built for film, TV and video production. Its 6000K colour temperature matches daylight, while the UV-stop quartz envelope blocks harmful ultraviolet output. The single-ended G22 base fits dedicated HMI fixtures used on professional sets.

Hot-Restart Capability and Fixed Output

Excellent hot-restart performance allows the lamp to re-strike almost immediately after a power interruption, keeping shoots on schedule. The lamp delivers a fixed 49000 lumen output at 575 watts with a rated life of 1000 hours. Output and colour stability are tied to the HMI ballast and cannot be dimmed or adjusted at the lamp itself.

G22 Base and UV-Stop Quartz Implications

The G22 base requires a compatible socket and ballast designed for single-ended HMI lamps; it will not fit standard Edison or stage-pin connectors. UV-stop quartz reduces ozone generation and protects crew and talent from UV exposure during long takes. The 1000-hour rating means scheduled relamping is necessary for consistent colour and intensity across a production.
