SKU CH-G8X4-87P7Y

Armored duplex fiber cable with LC UPC connectors for hazardous outdoor or conduit runs, .3 dB insertion loss and 50 dB return loss

  • Product typeRack
  • Armored stainless-steel tube shields fibers from rodents and crushing
  • LC UPC duplex connectors deliver .3 dB insertion loss
  • 9/125 µm single-mode fiber supports long-distance links
  • Withstands -40 °C to 75 °C operating temperature range
  • 30D dynamic bend radius eases conduit and underground routing

Conduit-Ready Armored Fiber Cable

This 50-metre LC-LC duplex patch cable uses single-mode 9/125 µm fiber inside a stainless-steel armored jacket rated for conduit, underground and outdoor runs. Installers handling hazardous routes with dust, oil, gas, moisture or rodent risk choose this construction when standard patch cords would fail.

Temperature Range and Signal Loss

The assembly operates from -40 °C to 75 °C and survives storage down to -45 °C and up to 85 °C. Insertion loss is held to .3 dB and return loss reaches 50 dB, while the dynamic bend radius of 30D and tensile rating of 100 to 132 lbs protect performance during pulls and vibration.

Upgrade from Standard Indoor Patch Cords

Teams replace ordinary indoor duplex cords when the link must cross mechanical rooms, buried ducts or exposed trays where crush or gnawing damage occurs. The jump is worth it only for paths that demand armor; inside a clean rack the extra stiffness and cost add no value.

Questions about this item

How do I route the 50 m armored duplex cable through conduit without kinking it?

Keep every bend radius at or above the 30 mm dynamic minimum; the stainless-steel tube resists crushing but will permanently deform if forced tighter.

What long-term checks does the stainless-steel armored jacket require?

Inspect the PVC outer sheath annually for abrasion or UV cracking; the metal armor itself needs no maintenance unless it suffers a sharp impact.

At what temperature does sustained operation risk exceeding the cable's rated limits?

Continuous use above 75 °C or below -40 °C moves the assembly outside its specified operating envelope.
