Compatible iPad models

The OtterBox 77-62053 Alpha Glass screen protector is designed for the iPad 7th generation and iPad 8th generation. It provides a precise fit for the display on these specific tablets. The clear tempered glass maintains the original screen appearance without distortion.

Upgrading from basic film protectors

This protector replaces thin plastic films that scratch easily and can reduce touch sensitivity. The jump is worth it when you want hardened glass that resists daily abrasion from stylus use or keyboard contact. It also eliminates the hassle of bubbles that often appear during film application.

Scratch protection and touch headroom

The tempered glass handles keys, pens and everyday friction without marking, preserving flawless clarity for media and work. Anti-shatter construction keeps the layer intact if the iPad is dropped onto a hard surface. It runs out when the impact exceeds the glass structural limit, at which point the display itself would need service.

Questions about this item

Will the 77-62053 Alpha Glass cover the full display of my iPad 7th gen?

Yes, the protector is cut for iPad (7th gen) and iPad (8th gen) so it matches the screen dimensions of both models.

What is the installation step most people miss with this tempered glass?

Clean the screen thoroughly with the included wipe, let it dry completely, then align the glass before lowering it — any dust left under the surface will trap a bubble.

When should I replace the Alpha Glass on my iPad 8th gen?

Replace it once the surface shows deep scratches, a spider-web crack, or if the oleophobic coating wears off and fingerprints no longer wipe clean.
