Commuter Series for iPhone SE, 8, 7

The OtterBox Commuter Series is a dual-layer protective case built for the iPhone SE second generation, iPhone 8 and iPhone 7. Its slim profile is designed for daily carry, slipping easily into pockets or bags without adding bulk. The all-black finish has no window or pattern, keeping the look plain and professional.

Dual-layer build with port covers

A soft inner layer sits against the phone while a rigid plastic outer shell wraps the edges, absorbing and deflecting impacts from drops and bumps. Integrated port covers seal the Lightning connector, speaker grilles and microphone openings, keeping dust, dirt and pocket lint out of the internals during everyday use.

Limited to three legacy models

The case fits only the iPhone SE second generation, iPhone 8 and iPhone 7; it will not fit the third-generation SE, iPhone 6s or any newer iPhone with a different camera layout or chassis size. Buyers needing MagSafe compatibility, a built-in screen protector or a holster clip should look elsewhere, as this model provides none of those features.

Questions about this item

Does the Commuter Series dual-layer case add much bulk to an iPhone SE 2nd Gen?

The slim profile keeps the phone pocket-friendly while the soft inner layer and hard outer shell absorb and deflect impacts.

Are the iPhone 7 and 8 button layouts identical so one case fits both?

Yes, the case mould matches the shared button, camera and port positions of iPhone 7, 8 and SE 2nd Gen.

How do the port covers stay in place during daily use?

Integrated flexible flaps snap over the Lightning port and speaker grilles, blocking dust and lint without a separate installation step.
