Replacement Exterior Shell

This genuine OtterBox exterior shell replaces the outer layer of a Defender Series case for iPad Pro 12.9-inch models. It fits the 6th, 5th and 4th generation Defender cases only. The part is intended for owners whose existing shell is worn or damaged. It is not a complete case and will not protect the iPad without the inner Defender components.

Capacity and Headroom

The shell covers the full 12.9-inch device perimeter and provides the same outer defence as the original Defender part. It handles daily impacts, drops and abrasion until the material fatigues or tears. Once the silicone structure splits or stretches beyond recovery, the shell no longer secures the inner slipcover and must be replaced again.

Build and Daily Implications

Moulded from a silicone, gel and rubber blend, the black shell wraps the polycarbonate inner layer and port covers. The precise cut-outs maintain access to buttons, cameras and the Smart Connector without removing the case. Because it is a single-piece skin, installation is a simple stretch-on action that restores the Defender's original grip and drop profile.
