Server-grade ECC registered memory

This 32 GB kit contains four 8 GB DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 modules built to JEDEC CL11 timings at 1.5 V. Each 240-pin RDIMM uses a 1Rx4 organisation and includes error-correcting code with registered buffering for stable operation in multi-module configurations. It is designed for select workstations, servers, NAS systems and routers that require registered ECC memory.

Sustained-load behaviour

Registered buffering reduces electrical load on the memory controller, allowing all four modules to run at the rated 1600 MT/s without timing degradation during extended workloads. ECC circuitry detects and corrects single-bit errors on the fly, preventing silent data corruption in long-running compute or storage tasks. The 1.5 V operating voltage keeps power draw predictable across continuous duty cycles.

Upgrade context

The kit replaces unbuffered or lower-capacity DDR3 modules in systems that mandate registered ECC memory and support quad-channel population. It is not suitable for standard desktop platforms that accept only unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs, nor for systems limited to two slots per channel. The jump is worthwhile when the platform explicitly lists RDIMM support and the workload benefits from 32 GB of error-corrected capacity.
