Portable Thunderbolt Dock
The OWC Thunderbolt Mini Dock is a bus-powered 5-port adapter for Thunderbolt-equipped Mac and PC notebooks. It adds dual 4K HDMI outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, and two USB 3 ports through a single Thunderbolt connection. The integrated 7.2-inch cable keeps the unit compact for mobile workspaces.
Build integration
The dock draws all power from the host Thunderbolt port, so no external adapter is required. It provides 900mA on each USB 3 port for bus-powered drives or slow smartphone charging. Actual display counts and resolutions depend on the host system's Thunderbolt implementation.
Bundled capability
The fixed 7.2-inch Thunderbolt cable eliminates a separate cable to carry or lose. HDCP 2.2 support enables protected 4K UHD streaming across both HDMI 2.0 ports. Multi-channel audio passes through HDMI for LCPM, DTS, and Dolby Digital playback.

Questions about this item
How many 4K displays can the dock drive simultaneously over its HDMI 2.0 ports?
The dock provides two HDMI 2.0 ports that can each drive a 4K display, so up to two external 4K monitors are supported when the host system allows it.
Does the bus-powered design cause the unit to get hot or loud during all-day operation?
Because it draws power from the host over the integrated 7.2-inch Thunderbolt cable and has no fan, the dock runs silently and stays cool enough for continuous use without a separate power adapter.
What host connection is required for the dock to function?
A Thunderbolt-equipped USB-C port on the host Mac or PC is required; the integrated 7.2-inch Thunderbolt cable plugs directly into that port to supply both data and power.
